Assembly

Assembly

Ten minutes the first time. Five after that.

Six steps. Go tool-free with the thumb screws, or use the hex screws with the included 2.5 mm hex key, or the 2.5 mm hex driver in the tool kit from that truck of yours. Both sets of screws are in every kit.

In the kit

  • 2 side plates Identical. Either one goes on either side.
  • Skin with 3 braces attached Arrives as one piece.
  • 1 crash brace
  • 10 M4 thumb screws 6 for the sides, 4 for the crash brace.
  • 10 M4 flanged button head screws Black, for the same 10 positions. These hold tighter.
  • 2.5 mm hex key Or use the 2.5 mm hex driver from your truck's tool kit.

Tips

  • Hex screws hold tighter. Thumb screws are quicker, but they can work loose over time. Check them before a session.
  • Start at the bottom and work up. Each pair of screws sets the skin up for the next notch.
  • Leave the side screws loose until all six are in. Tighten them last so the ramp keeps its profile.
  • The first build is the stiffest. The skin takes a curve after its first assembly and goes on easier every time after.
  • Cold skin? Give it 10 to 15 minutes in the sun. It bends into the notches with less effort.
  • Another way to do it. Hold the skin upright by its braces and attach each side plate lying flat, then add the crash brace.
